Marie and Gus

When I got my dog Gus, I soon learnt that trying to fit into a tight family unit was as difficult for him as it was for us and he needed to know his place in our family.  We immediately enrolled him into puppy classes in September 2008 and noticed a considerable change in him.  Don't get me wrong, it has taken a lot of hard work, patience and continual training and in return we are rewarded with a lovable, happy, faithful and obedient dog. None of this would have been possible without the help of various experienced trainers here at the club.  We will continue to bring Gus to training as we are hoping (way, way into the future!), he will gain his Gold Good Citizen.

Tricia and Laddie (also a Committee Member)

In 2008 I acquired Laddie, a border collie rescue with problems, caused by events that had happened to him in the past.  When he was really young he had been attacked at dog shows and being young not known how to react.  His problems were not sorted out and when I took him on he had not been walked for 1 year and was kept in either a cage or a kennel in the garden.   I was given a great deal of help and support by the trainers at the club and I am pleased to say that he is a much happier dog and for this I am most grateful for the patience of those trainers.

Emma and Tiny

In 2005 my dog Tiny was abandoned in our garden while we were living in Cyprus.  After living outside, in our garden, in Cyprus, it was such a big transition for him (and us!) when we moved back to England in 2007 and he began living inside.  When we first started training, it was all very new to both of us (Tiny is my first dog) and he was quite 'wild'.  Now, with the tremendous help of all involved at FDDTC, he has transformed into a fantastic pet and is well-behaved (most of the time!).  I genuinely cannot believe that we have managed to pass the Gold Kennel Club Good Citizen Award - thank you to the trainers who encouraged me to give it a go!
Rick, Belinda and Mogwai

May 2015. Amazing.  Jacky Ruddock, came to our home tonight to see Mogwai, our Shitzhu cross Chihuahua, who is very unpredictable and giving us problems.   She was amazing.  We were so shocked by the way she got down to talking and showing us where we as a family have gone wrong. We have added her to our phone and will keep in touch over the next few weeks while we will work on all the advice and the things she has shown us. Once again many many thanks to such a wonderful and professional lady.
Kindest Regards Rick and Belinda
